Why in Vedic times there were early marriages?

Having grown in Kali yuga and brought up in the modern Western education, most of us think of late marriages and don't prefer to get married early in life because one feels that there's a lot of things to try to enjoy first before starting married life which is a "BIG" responsibility. The underlying concept of the current education is 'life is meant for enjoyment' whereas factually it is supposed to be 'human life is a life of responsibility' which is actually the Vedic perspective. So one who is brought up in the modern education is usually afraid or unwilling to take up responsibility of life in general and marriage in particular.

In India there's a common saying, "if a boy is living life care free and not doing anything constructive, get him married."
I was thinking in these lines and I found some very good reasons why early marriage should be preferred.

A grown up adult boy or a girl usually get infatuated with the thoughts of the opposite sex. Gossips and chit chats all revolve around that. The boy or girl get distracted from pursuing their career properly. Often they end up dreaming about who would be their partner and how they should be looking like etc.. When someone gets engaged for marriage then it cuts down the options of day dreaming about the partner and other kinds of infatuations. All the distracted thoughts vanish and the enjoying and carefree mentality is cut. This is not at all insane because human life is actually meant for advancing in our spiritual lives, the earlier the enjoying mentality is cut the better it is for the individual.

There's is nothing spiritual in marriage per se unless the individuals are trained in spiritual knowledge however at varnasrama level it helps to keep the society in an orderly manner and gives a sense of responsibility to the individuals which is conducive for their spiritual lives.

As soon as one gets married immediately atha grha ksetra suta apta vittaih.. one gets a house, children etc. There are many factors that a married man or a woman has to start taking charge of. They have to run the house, finance, grow the children, give them proper education and culture etc. It involves sacrifice and service attitude. If the household is not maintained properly then immediately one can see the repurcussions, kind of a negative feedback of his actions which will drive the person to the proper state.

My learnings from Chanakya's Niti-sastra

The other day being interested to read, I downloaded a copy of Chanakya-niti-sastra from ISKCON desire tree. It is a very nice translation by one of ISKCON devotees, a disciple of Srila Prabhupada. The reason I wanted to learn Chanakya niti is because firstly Srila Prabhupada used to quote Chanakya pandit many times in his lectures. We know the most quoted ones are matravat para daresu paradravesu lostravat…, ayusah ksana ekopi na labhyah svarna-kotibhih..,putra hinam grham sunyam etc. In Srila Prabhupada lectures and books we can see numerous places where Prabhupada quotes moral principles mentioning Chanakya pandit. The author of this translation also mentions in the introduction that Srila Prabhupada had expressed a desire that Sri Chanakya Niti-Sastra be properly translated into English. Where did the mistake happen?

Nowadays we see that although people are having better facilities of life, more technology which is making their life easier, more and more comforts etc., still there are sufficient number of people who are deep down not happy and satisfied with the way they are living their lives. On an average, people's lives have become very complicated; anyone you touch and ask them about their problems they either have health problems (majorly) or financial problems or family problems or relationship problems or legal issues or property litigations and many more.
